  Why our soccer practices are so effective:


PRACTICE SEQUENCE & DRILL DESIGN

Each practice plan follows the sequence of warm-up, soccer technical (skill) drill, fitness drill, tactical drill and scrimmage. The practices have a theme that follows throughout the session. The sequencing of drills is one of the key proprietary components of our program. It has been researched, tested and proven to be extremely effective in optimum development of skill, fitness, tactical understanding and mental training.

A cornerstone of our program is the principle of including ball work in everything we do.

Warm-Up

Our warm-ups are a set of four low intensity exercises emphasizing basic ball control, 1v1 moves and footwork. After each drill is a stretch to ensure proper muscular progression.

Technical Skill

Our technical skills incorporate all essential elements such as ball control, receiving, passing, shooting into simple and fun small group drills. You can easily monitor success and decrease your demands on the players to allow more effective skill development.

Fitness Drill

Aerobic, anaerobic, speed, strength are developed while executing basic skills, thus more accurately reflecting game situations than traditional fitness training without ball. For the most part, players don't even realize that they are in a fitness drill.

Tactical Drill

Our tactical drills are mainly small group exercises. They are based on fundamental tactical aspects of the youth game and support all systems of play and game tactics. General aspects of defense, midfield and attacking models are trained in small functional units.

Scrimmage

The scrimmages at the end of the session bring together all the elements of the prior drills. They are fun and a reward for the work so far.


ADDITIONAL FEATURES

There are instructions as to how you might want to sequence the practices based on your season and team need.

Practices are designed to be easy to demonstrate, maximize player touches on the ball.

In addition to soccer skill and team tactics, they incorporate fitness, agility, communication, problem solving and mental fitness training.

Each of the drills for each of the practices is on its own page that fits on a clipboard and has room for notes.

This allows the coach to create different practice sessions from the 50 drill pages (80 drills) available.

So if you wanted to run a practice involving more passing, use drills with passing themes.

If you wanted to sequence warm-up-technical-technical-tactical-scrimmage, you can put those together.

There is a summary page outlining the main focus of each of the drills.
